The reason YOU have becomes successful because it captures audience who loves books. (Considering "YOU" was based on the book of Caroline Kepnes). And who doesn't love books? Mostly everyone and majority of women, do loves books. They, including me can relate to the girl name Beck, who loves to write and like to visit the bookshop and to the guy name Joe, who also love books and happen to be the Bookstore Manager of the Mooney Bookshop. THE...BOOKSHOP. The bookshop, bookshop, bookshop, where Joe and Beck's first cute meet up happen. Where they first exchanges jokes and smiles. Where Joe immediately captures our hearts. He literally had us at Hello.

Let's add to the fact that Joe Golberg is cute and Guinevere Becks is equally the same.

The story is also unique but also relatable. I love the story, the style of the story, the cinematography (the warm tones on every scene) and the cast.

The only thing I'm worried about is the character of Joe Goldberg. He is a creepy stalker with unparalleled obsession with a person a.k.a. his crush. You should be scare of him. But damn, Penn Badgley played the Character so well you can't help to like him. Even like for him and Becks to end up together at the end. He is likable with a charming voiceover. Likable but a little demented over a girl which is a little bothering because he went way too much trying to get the girl he wants. Crossing the line by inviting himself into her life....Lets just say he'a a kind of person who gets what he wants and not relying over luck or so called fate. But luck in on his side actually. It was when a drunk Becks went after him on the subway not knowing that Joe is already on the platform waiting for the train. And Becks thought she met Joe for the 2nd time which is not the case for Joe who have been watching her for period of time already.

I think all the wrong thing about Joe and why people romanticizing him and not the other way around is because 1. He introduce himself to her and talk to her rather than lurking or hiding behind a computer and just watching her discreetly. 2. He Dress presentably. 3. He's Cute. 4. Women are also rooting for dangerous men. 4. He looks innocent, an old fashion guy who likes real life, a homeboy kind of guy and a good neighborhood friend to a kid name Paco. What could go wrong right?

"YOU" showed us that It should be scary, dangerous and illegal to stalk someone. But if it is Joe/Penn stalking or obsessing on you, you'll probably meet him in the middle and say "Maybe if you're not too busy we could get a drink sometime?"

In my defense, all I'm seeing right now is the charming Joe. I haven't seen the other side of Joe. We'll see about it as I'm continuing to the series.
